It is a Growth feature, and every Kattia account includes it today. When you connect, Kattia asks Google for read-only access to your Gmail and Google Calendar. This article explains what that access covers and how to remove it.
What the connection is for
Kattia uses the connection to match job-related email threads and interview events to the right application in your pipeline. It never sends email as you.
What access Kattia asks for
On Google's consent screen, Kattia requests two permissions:
Gmail read-only (
gmail.readonly): lets Kattia read your messages, including their details such as sender, subject and date.Calendar events read-only (
calendar.events.readonly): lets Kattia read events from your primary calendar.
Kattia does not ask for permission to send, delete or change email, to change calendar events, or to use other Google services such as Drive or Contacts.
What each sync reads
You start each sync yourself. Kattia does not sync in the background.
Each sync reads up to 80 job-related emails from the last 30 days. It also reads events on your primary calendar from the last 90 days to 180 days ahead.
When you use Search your inbox on the Inbox sync page, Kattia searches your whole inbox and shows the sender, subject, date and a short preview of matching emails. Search results are not added to your synced emails.
How Kattia handles this data
Kattia uses it only to provide the features above. It does not use it for advertising and does not sell it.
Kattia does not use it to train generalised or public AI models. When an AI feature processes the content of an email, Kattia sends it to an AI model provider to produce your result.
Kattia does not let people read it unless you give explicit consent for a specific message, it is needed to investigate abuse, the law requires it, or the data has been aggregated and de-identified.
Kattia stores your Google refresh token (the token that keeps you connected) encrypted.
Kattia stores the sender, subject, date and text of each job-related email a sync reads, so it can match and show them. Disconnecting deletes them.
These commitments follow the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. The Privacy Policy has the full wording.
Check or change the connection
Open Settings › Connected inbox.
Under Google, check the status. "Gmail and Calendar are linked." means the connection works.
If you see "Your Google connection needs re-authorisation.", select Reconnect Google.
Disconnect
Open Settings › Connected inbox.
Select Disconnect…, then Disconnect Google.
Kattia revokes its access at Google and deletes the synced emails, inbox proposals, email events and calendar events. Kattia keeps your applications, the notes you wrote, and notes that inbox sync already added to your applications.
If Google does not confirm that the access was removed, Kattia says so. In that case, remove Kattia on your Google Account permissions page to be sure.
You can also remove Kattia's access from that page at any time. Either method stops the sync.
If you suspect someone else has access
In Kattia, open Settings › Connected inbox and select Disconnect…, then Disconnect Google.
Remove Kattia on your Google Account permissions page.
Change your Google password.
