You can move a card by drag and drop, from a menu or with the keyboard.
Move one application
Drag and drop: on the board, drag a card to another column and release.
Stage button: each card has a button showing its current stage. Select it and choose a new stage. The menu also has Open application. With a mouse or trackpad, the button appears when you point at the card or move focus into it.
Card menu: right-click a card, or press and hold it on a touch screen, then choose a stage under the Move to heading. The menu also has Open details and Select this application. On a card marked Added from email, it also has Not an application; the open application offers the same action under More actions at the foot of its details. On a phone, that button sits next to the Added from email label on the row.
List view: select the stage badge on the row and choose a new stage.
Keyboard: on the board, focus the role title on a card, then press the left or right arrow key to move the card one column. Press Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on a Mac), Shift+F10 or the menu key to open the stage menu.
Application detail: open the application, change Application status on the Overview tab, then select Save.
After you move one card, Kattia shows "Moved to" and the stage, with an Undo button for a few seconds.
Moving a card to Unsuccessful or Ghosted clears its follow-up date. The message also says "Follow-up cancelled", and Undo puts the date back.
On a phone, the board is a list. To see one stage at a time, use the menu at the top of the list and choose a stage, or All stages to see every card.
Move several applications
Select the Select button. On a desktop screen it sits at the right of the strip above the board. On a phone it sits at the right of the figures at the top of the list. You can also right-click a card and choose Select this application.
Tick the applications you want to move.
Choose where they go. On a desktop screen, the bar shows a Move to button for each stage, such as Move to Applied. On a phone, select Move to… in the bar at the bottom of the screen and pick a stage.
The same bar has Delete, which removes the selected applications permanently after you confirm. On a desktop screen, Clear ends the selection. On a phone, select Cancel.
When to move a card
Applied: move a card here when you have sent the application, not while you are still thinking about it.
Interviewing: move it when an interview is confirmed or you have had one. A phone screen, a technical round and a final round all count.
Offer: move it when you have an offer, written or verbal.
Unsuccessful: move it when the employer turns you down. The card keeps the record of how far you got.
Ghosted: move it when you have followed up and heard nothing, and you have decided to stop chasing.
A card that sits in Applied for weeks is a signal. Set a follow-up date and act on it, or move the card to Ghosted when you are done chasing.
See how long a card has been in a stage
On the board, point at a card that has been in its stage for more than three days to see a note such as "In Applied · 8 days". Use it to decide whether to follow up, move the card or close it out.
