What do the pipeline stages and the tag mean?

Every application has one stage, which shows where it stands in your search.

It can also carry a tag for extra signal. Stages and the tag use the same names everywhere in Kattia.

The stages

A card is always in exactly one stage. The board shows the stages as columns in this order.

  • Sourced: a role you are considering but have not applied to yet.

  • Applied: you have sent the application.

  • Interviewing: you are in conversation with the employer, from a phone screen to a final round.

  • Offer: you have an offer. The card stays here while you decide.

  • Unsuccessful: the employer rejected you, or the process ended without an offer.

  • Ghosted: you followed up and heard nothing.

The tag

The tag sits on top of a stage. A card keeps its stage and can carry the tag or not.

  • Viewed: the employer has looked at your application.

On the board, the tag shows on cards in the Sourced, Applied, Interviewing and Offer columns. In the list view, it shows with the stage badge.

Set a stage or the tag

To change a stage, use the stage button on a card, the stage badge on a list row, or Application status in the application. Read How do I move an application between stages? for every method.

To set the tag, open the application and select Viewed under Application status on the Overview tab. Select it again to remove it. Then select Save. If you connect your email, email sync can also suggest the tag from what an email says, for example Viewed when an employer opens your application.

Tips

  • Move a card to Interviewing as soon as a date is confirmed.

  • Move rejections to Unsuccessful and silent applications to Ghosted.
